How To Configure SmarterMail In IIS

Step1. RDP to your VPS or Dedicated Server

Step2. Create a web site in IIS

1. Description: smartermail
2. IP Address: the primary IP address for your server
3. Host header for this Web site: mail.domainname.com
4. Path: C:\Program Files\SmarterTools\SmarterMail\MRS
5. Website Permissions: check Read and Run scripts

Step 3. Configure the smartmail website

1. SmarterMail 4.x: select 2.0.x as the ASP.NET verion
2. SmarterMail 3.x: select 1.1.x as the ASP.NET verion
3. On the HTTP Headers tab, click MIME Types, Add New (Extension: .js MIME type: application/x-javascript

Step 4 Create a new A record to point to the new website

Create a new A record as A Record mail.domainname.com IP
